Mahjong Classic
Mahjong Classic is a single-level solitaire Mahjong game using 144 tiles arranged in the Turtle formation. Find the matching tiles and pair them up to remove them from the board. Your aim is to remove all the tiles, and you can use hints and shuffles if you need a hand.
How do you play Mahjong Classic?
In this board game, the Chinese tiles featuring the Dots, Bamboos, Characters, and Flowers are stacked face up in a formation called the Turtle (because the shape looks a bit like the dome of a turtle’s shell). To finish the game, you have to clear away all the tiles by finding the matching pairs and combining them.
You cannot just pick up any tile, however. Playable tiles must be free on at least one long side, and cannot be covered by other tiles. Tiles trapped in the middle of the tile formation or (partially) covered by other tiles cannot be selected.
Playable tiles will turn yellow when you tap them. Tiles that are not yet playable will quiver and do not change color. Tap a tile with a picture on it that matches the first tile you picked. If the combination is valid, both tiles will vanish. Only the green season tiles do not feature matching pictures. There are four of these honor tiles in total, and while each is unique, you can combine any two tiles belonging to this set.
At the top of the screen, you can see how many tiles are left and how many matches can currently still be made (“Open Matches”). If you can’t find any tiles to match, you can tap the hint button and two combinable tiles will light up pink. If there are no possible matches left, a pop-up will appear. You can then either shuffle the remaining tiles and continue playing, or choose to start a new game.
There is no time limit to this game, so you can play at your own pace. There is also no limit on the number of hints you can ask for.
